Shawinhun Andre is a proud member of the Cree Nation of Nemaska and a dedicated advocate for Indigenous economic advancement. With a strong foundation in strategic operations, business development, and workforce capacity building, Shawinhun brings over a decade of diverse leadership experience spanning governance coordination, project management, and communications. His work is driven by a deep commitment to strengthening self-sufficiency and prosperity within Indigenous communities.

Most recently, Shawinhun served as Executive Coordinator and Project Manager at the Nemaska Development Corporation, where he played a central role in supporting the board of directors, advancing executive operations, and delivering high-impact development projects. These included the expansion of a gas station and convenience store, major commercial renovations, construction camp upgrades, hotel optimization, and foreign worker recruitment. Under his leadership, the corporation enhanced operational efficiency, increased revenue streams, and built internal capacity to support long-term growth.

Over the years, Shawinhun has held multiple leadership roles within the organization, including Assistant Operations Manager, Executive Assistant to the CEO, Communications Officer, and Hotel Manager—demonstrating his versatility and deep operational insight.

In his consulting practice, Shawinhun works with Indigenous entrepreneurs, development corporations, and Economic Development Officers (EDOs) to deliver business plans, strategic growth frameworks, feasibility studies, and implementation support. His sector experience spans retail, construction, hospitality, and community infrastructure, offering clients tailored, culturally grounded solutions.

Fluent in English and Eastern Cree, Shawinhun is deeply committed to building lasting partnerships and advancing community-led economic development that reflects Indigenous values and aspirations.
